ELECTRIFYING EFFICIENCY

Taking excellent fuel efficiency to the next level, the Mazda2 Hybrid is powered by a petrol engine and a battery-powered electric motor that work in tandem, as well as alone: a full-parallel hybrid drive system. The EV mode offers smooth, ultra-quiet pure electric driving for the majority of the time in urban environments – with zero tailpipe emissions! The Mazda2 Hybrid’s lithium-ion battery lets you run all-electric when driving around housing estates, car parks and other places where emissions need to be kept down. And the best part is: regenerative braking uses the electric motor to charge the battery, so you don’t have to. The system combines a 1.5 litre petrol engine with a powerful 59kW electric motor and a high-performance 177.6 V lithium-ion battery located under the rear seat to save space.
